About Me

Dr Boriana Koleva is a Associate Professor in the School of Computer. Her research area is the field of Human Computer Interaction with a particular emphasis on material and mixed reality interfaces for cultural experiences. Boriana Koleva was a principal investigator for a UK EPSRC funded project on the use of mobile devices for extended and coherent user experiences and site manager for the EU FP6 Project INSCAPE on storytelling.

She is currently a principle investigator for the EU FP7 Project CHESS which explores mobile and augmented reality technologies to enhance museum visits and the Horizon Digital Economy Hub project which led to the development of Aestheticodes. Her research has led to the publication of over 45 papers in conferences and journals, including ACM CHI, ACM DIS, ECSCW, UbiComp, Presence and ACM Transactions on CHI.
